With more and more Archaeological discoveries being made every day, never before have we been able to peek into the long dynasties that have risen and fallen during the history of the Earth and see how they lived their lives. You can look towards the Khemitians (ancient Egyptians), the Aztecs, the Sumerians, Babylonians, the list really does go on but a running theme can always be found, a LIVING devotion to Spirit.

‘Devotion’ can mean many things so know the ‘devotion’ I speak of is the conscious choice to make one’s life a moving prayer, to make it an opportunity to bring more presence and love to each and every moment are graced with.

You can see the Ancient’s devotion through many facets; their architecture, their art, their music, their clothing. They were aware that the divine permeated all that is.

They wanted to praise that which gave them life and which they are from, which at least for me personally, is really moving.

In the modern world, we like to place things in boxes, into categories, however, this can be a limiting belief that can lead to stagnation and blockages in our creative process.

Life is not linear, it is all happening all the time, it is only our perspective that is linear.

Just as the seasons follow this secular nature so does everything else, the seasons flow from one to the other in a perfect balance, spirit creates in spirals, in circles not in straight lines.

So how can we start to introduce this nature into our lives?

One of my favourite techniques for making your life a moving prayer is to set an intention before you do your action. An example from my own life is when I began setting intentions with the candles I burnt on my altar, before I would light the wick I would hold the candle before myself and state ‘my intention for this candle is for it too…’ I was amazed by how much this started to help me realise the divine in the mundane. I would begin to feel the spirit open up to work with me. Another place you could bring this technique in could be before a walk, sit and look in the mirror and state your intention for the walk, you might feel uneasy when you start to do this, your Ego can try to retreat back into separation by conjuring feelings of embarrassment or shame. Just remember you do not have anything to be ashamed of.

We have entered the Age of Aquarius, the Divine Feminine is here now to help uplift us each and every day. Do not let shame dim your light, open yourself to her like a rose to sunlight, reach towards her with these practices of self-love and empowerment, she is here for you all you must do is feel her.

I want to end with a quote from the movie The Great Dictator which to this day will always give me tingles:

‘To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, The bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men - machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You are not machines, you are not cattle, you are men! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure, let us use that power! Let us all unite!’
